Melanie Auld Jewelry was started in 2013 by the lovely Melanie Auld herself. She has since grown the company over the years to incorporate invaluable employees and a brick-and-mortar store. Melanie Auld Jewelry opened its flagship store in Vancouver in 2019. The store is located in South Granville. Tucked perfectly away just off the bustling Granville Street, transporting you into a world of stunning design. Their styles range from meaningful pendants to dainty earrings to a wide variety of chains.

All of their designs are buildable and the more you have the merrier. Their chains and pendants are sold separately so you can mix and match with whatever you are drawn to. It is also wonderful that you can get the jewelry in a variety of metals so they can fit everyone’s price point. I love how all of their designs are cohesive, yet unique at the same time. Everything I have purchased from there looks so good together, yet they are always coming up with new and different styles. Some collections speak to current trends, but they are always tasteful and truly feel like they could be worn for a long time.

Jewelry

Melanie Auld Jewelry has a beautiful array of earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets. They tend to release frequent new collections, inspired by travel and storytelling. Their tagline is “storytelling through beautiful objects”.

As mentioned above, you can find many of the styles in a range of finishings like solid gold, gold vermeil and sterling silver. For those who aren’t familiar with gold vermeil, it is a sterling silver base with a layer of gold on top. It is required that the gold be a minimum of 2.5 microns thick to be categorized as gold vermeil.

Their necklaces layer together beautifully and can be made brand new by swapping out the pendant or chain. New styles are always coming out. Some are only around for a limited time, whereas others have become staples to the brand. The Fortune Pendant is one that is currently on my wish list this year. I have seen it stay around over the years and it still sells out frequently whenever there is a sale!

Similar to pendants for necklaces, Melanie Auld Jewelry offers tiny charms that can be added to some of their huggie hoop earrings. Such a fun addition that you can change up depending on your outfit or mood.

Another way to make the pieces a little more your own is to engrave them. Melanie Auld Jewelry offers free engraving on eligible styles. This is such a great way to personalize your jewelry and make it even more special. A great idea for a gift as well!

Melanie Auld Jewelry has done a notable collaboration with digital creator Jillian Harris. This collection is named “Adorned”. The pieces created for this collection are dainty charms for necklaces. This collection has been relaunched multiple times with different charms because of its success. They are perfect to add multiple to a chain or have your favourite one shine solo.

Melanie Auld Jewelry has recently added more made-to-order pieces created with 14k solid gold and diamonds. They have a wonderful lineup of stunning rings that would be perfect for wedding bands. Make sure you inquire about these well in advance considering they need time to be made especially for you!

Melanie Auld Jewelry offers their jewelry on their website, in-store (at their flagship location) and at many wonderful boutiques. The very exciting news is that they are opening a second location in Vancouver on West 4th Avenue. AND another location in Toronto that will be located on Ossington Avenue. So amazing to see them expand their stores! I am looking forward to seeing how these two new locations turn out considering how beautiful the Vancouver flagship store is. It’s elegant and classy, yet trendy. Big arches, pink velvet chairs, pops of green, grounding beiges. The space has such a welcoming feel.

A great tip is that if the item you are looking at shows that it is sold out online, there is a good chance it could still be available in-store. Contact the store directly to speak with an employee who will be able to check for you if they do in fact have that item in stock in-store. Similarly, there are certain items that are online exclusives that are labelled as so on their website. So you can avoid heading into the store to try on that piece only to realize it won’t be there.

The Melanie Auld Jewelry flagship store carries more than just their jewelry, you can find other beautifully sourced products such as glass vases or ceramics from Italy and Mexico. Currently, you can actually purchase the handmade ceramic carafe sourced from Mexico on the Melanie Auld Jewelry website. I am in love with the pink tiled one!

Another cool aspect about the Melanie Auld Jewelry store is that they offer in-store piercing parties. They have a professional piercer come directly to the store. You can then have your ears pierced with select Melanie Auld Jewelry earrings. What a great idea. Please be aware of how the current COVID protocols are affecting the piercing parties, as things are always changing.
